Ethnic Groups
There is about 30 different ethnic groups in Togo, the most notable ethnicitys being the Ewe, Mina, and Kabre. In Togo there is about 2.57 million christians while also having 1.77 million islams. However, most of the country has very different African religions. The Ewe, which are originally from Nigeria, migrated into Togo and surrounding areas at around the 15th century. Along with French colonist who arrived at Togo in 1916 resulting in the Togolese speaking French.
Agriculture
Togo is popular for farming items like coffee, cocoa beans, and peanuts. With the different regions of Togo farmers are able to grow very different crops, the northern soil allows for crops like corn to grow, while the south is able to grow rice. Animals such as cattle, sheep, and pigs are bred in the north as the south has a large fishing industry.

Demographic Trends
Togo's birth rate is one of the highest globally while its death rate is relatively low. This is due in part to the fact that 2/3 of the whole population is under the age of 29. However, fertility rates are on the fall in Togo with the average births per woman in 2010 being 5, then dropping down to 4.2 in 2021 . The life expectancy on average is a 62 which is very high compared to its Sub-Saharan counter parts like Nigeria with an average of 53 as of 2021.
